There are lots of things about our upcoming round the world bike trip that I am looking forward to but here are a few:
Waking up in our tent, cooking breakfast on our camping stove and getting back on the bike. I am really looking forward to a break from schedules, meetings, appointments and everything else that goes with a busy career.
Sounds obvious but we are going to get super fit in the process of this ride and I can't wait! It takes so much effort to workout everyday while working but on the trip it will just happen automatically.
No rush. We will have the ultimate luxury of time. Aside from getting through China (because we don't know what visa we will be granted yet) we can go as fast or as slow as we want. So if we wake up one morning next to a beautiful lake or beach and just aren't ready to move on... no problem!
Matthew is slightly worried that I might starve on this trip because I can be a bit of a fussy eater. But I'm actually looking forward to trying new cuisines. And if I don't like it... there's always ramen noodles.
I'm a terrible tourist and rarely think to take any photos. I'm sure we will manage a few Instagram-worthy snaps on the trip but, most of all, we will make memories to last a lifetime.
